Surrounded

I guess I will never understand people ...
Today is the first day back at work after the new yeas festivities. I imagined a quiet day at the office, cup of coffee and putting things in order for the new years admininstration. I couldn't have been more wrong.
I arrive at work around 6:45 am to find a bunch of people waiting at the steps of the building. They needed to get their things in order to leave Paramaribo to go back to the schools where they teach in the interior. The question I ask myself at that moment is ... Why wait untill the last day??????
So now the office is filled with people, the boss has a million meetings, everyone wants to speak to her, forms have to be signed, people need new contracts (I can't print those out until the moment they are to be signed) ... and now my coffee is cold.

I guess people need to learn to get their things in order in advance and not last minute.

So now my desk is covered with contracts, forms that need to be signed, 2 phones (yes 2, because my colleague decided to call in sick today), pens all over and post-it's scattered all over

Help ...
