Ow what a weekend

My my, I've had myself a busy couple of days.
I had 2 weddings the past weekend and have one today.
Saturdays wedding was a small one in Paramaribo, but Sunday's wedding was at White Beach. I loved the location !!! For me the only thing wrong was that it was at night. As I sat there on the beach watching the sunset and waiting for the bridal party and the guests to arrive I did something I hadn't done since I was lets say 15 years old lol. I was picturing my own wedding had I chosen this location. Crazy I know.
I pictured I would have it in bright sunlight, in a light dress that the wind can play with a little, no shoes on, just my feet touching the white sand. The groom would be wearing linen pants with a linen shirt, also barefoot. And it would just be us there on the beach with some of our closest friends. A small group of people celebrating a simple ceremony of two people making a promise to one-another ... Conny ... your not writing a novel here, pull yourself together !!!

Back to the reception there was that sunday. The place was almost perfect, nice decorations, great music (jazz band) good food and nice beautiful people. Almost too good to be true huh ... well it wass. The bar SUCKED !!!

I was thirsty after a while so I went to get myself something to drink. With my diet in mind I asked for some juice ... sorry we only have alcohol and soft drinks. Arrggg ... I got myself a glass of water and went back to my seat. O yeah almost forgot to say ... there were no clean water or long drink glasses so I got my water in a champagne flute.

After 2 glasses of water I went to eat. The food was delicious! now for some spirit I thought, went to the bar and asked for some baileys. Ow I shouldn't have. It wasn't cooled so i needed ice with that ... the ice was melted, there was no proper glass (again) so the guy put some ice/water in a tequila shooter glass and wanted to put the baileys on top of that. I almost committed murder there. I said I would wait for a clean glass. After 15 minutes there finally came one. As he started to put the watered ice in that glass i just had to stop him, went behind the bar and served myself. People started asking me to help them because they too were frustrated with the "barkeeper". Poor kid, I felt so sorry for him. He told me it was his first day on the job and he was nervous.

Time to cut the cake ... that went well (with our assistance it just can't go wrong haha ;)). They auctioned off one of the cakes; that was so much fun. I honestly thought that nothing could go wrong anymore after the Bailey's incident ... ow how wrong I was. The bar didn't cool the champagne, my first timer friend was shaking the bottle as he walked over to bring it, the groom shakes it some more and ... POP!!! Everyone got a champagne shower and the bottle was almost empty. There was just enough left for a toast. The cake was soaked, the floor was slippery ad I had to cut the cake barefoot so I didn't land on the floor. I left short after my work was done because monday was another workday.

I don't even want to start about Monday. I was sick, had pain allover and went home early. Maybe it was exhaustion, maybe something else. the only thing I remember is waking up after a 3 hour sleep and went straight for my books to study for Tuesdays exam.
Tuesday morning I couldn't get out of bed so I slept until 10 am, felt a bit better and studied some more for my exam that afternoon. At 4pm I had to finish the wedding cake and i was off to school. Exam went well (I hope).

And here I am again at work Wednesday morning, feeling much better, waiting for the hours to pass by.
And tonight ... I'm off to another wedding.

This is the cake from the White Beach wedding :
